Tavia: Tampon + Pad Delivery that Gives Back

Tavia: Tampon + Pad Delivery that Gives Back

This post is not sponsored. I received a Tavia box in exchange for my honest opinions.

Did you know that in some parts of the world, up to 50% of girls drop out of school due to consequences of their period?

Many people haven’t heard of this or even considered it because periods aren’t something we talk about much outside of middle school health class.

I recently learned about a company, Tavia, that provides a period box subscription service to women in the U.S. with a “buy 1, give 1” model that also delivers products to girls in developing countries. Such a win for everyone involved!

Tavia is an NC-based company (shout out to my home state and good things going on in the South!) that offers feminine care subscription boxes with free standard shipping. You can customize your delivery based on what products you want and how frequently you need them, and there are no subscription fees. Tavia offers a number of tampon, pad, and liners from recognizable brands like Tampax and Playtex, among others.

I love that Tavia offers organic tampon options, as I try to avoid chemicals and toxins in my beauty and personal care products. I recently got a Tavia box with o.b. Organic tampons, which are made from 100% organic cotton. They are free from chlorine, fragrances, and dyes, and they have a plant-based applicator (yay for less plastic!). I think it is important to use organic tampons that are free from pesticides and other toxins since your vaginal wall is extremely permeable, meaning any chemicals in your tampon can make it into your bloodstream. Read more here about the possible impacts of chemicals in your tampons.

My Tavia box shipped quickly and showed up in a discreet cardboard box. No need to worry about your neighbors seeing what type of panty liners you use–the box has light pink Tavia logo tape at the seams and is otherwise unmarked with no mention of period products.

Of course, the best part about Tavia is that when you subscribe, you also sponsor a girl in a developing country to receive locally-made period products. Access to these products will enable her to manage her periods and can prevent her from missing school or dropping out entirely due to lack of access to period supplies.

I love that Tavia sources period products within the girl’s own community, ensuring that they are both culturally appropriate and supporting the local economy.

If you want to try out Tavia, get 20% off your first order with discount code TAVIA2020. This service makes it so easy to buy your own feminine products while giving to others who need access!

  2. That’s so great that it supports girls who need it 🙏🏻 I’ve switched to a menstrual cup are reusable pads but this sounds like a good option too!
