Aren’t all of the events leading up to weddings so much fun? Engagement parties, showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties…there is lots of fun to be had! However, if you are hosting one of these soirees, you might find that costs add up quickly. Throwing a ladies-only bridal shower or a bachelorette party? Here’s a favor idea that is adorable, yet won’t break the bank: nail polish!
Here in the Carolinas, it’s no secret that we love our blooms. Dogwood, Carolina jasmine, magnolias, lilies, hydrangeas, roses, gardenias…we have some truly stunning flowers in our region! It seems only fitting, then, that we would show our love for flowers by adorning our wedding gowns with pretty blooms. Here are a few of my current favorite gowns showcasing floral prints and embellishments:
Bright colors, cheerful prints, and lightweight fabrics that help you keep your cool when it’s 100 degrees with 90% humidity outside? Yes, please! Thanks to the late Lillian Pulitzer Rousseau, also known as the “Queen of Prep” and founder of the Lilly Pulitzer clothing line, Carolina belles have enjoyed getting gussied up in Lilly Pulitzer clothing since the 1950s. The colorful, preppy designs are a true Southern favorite. Today, I am celebrating Ms. Lilly’s contribution to Carolina style with a Lilly Pulitzer-inspired pink and green wedding vision.
First up: the save the date!
Hi there belles and beaus! I have an exciting, budget-friendly bouquet idea to share today. While I was in Charleston this past week, I couldn’t resist stopping by the Historic City Market to take a look at all the local artwork, gifts, and crafts on display. As I walked through, something caught my eye: the beautiful bouquet pictured below.
Attention belles! If you live near Charlotte, NC, and are in the market for a wedding dress, there is an upcoming sale you need to know about. Anjolique Bridal (located in Cornelius) is having a wedding gown sale Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26). All dresses will be on sale, and you can score 10-70% off inventory dresses. Additionally, all brides who purchase a dress during the sale will receive $100 off a veil!
Y’all, I can’t resist sharing my very own engagement photos by the lovely Emily March Photography. Wes was a trooper to trek all around the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill, despite being sick with a bad cold! We chose to wear comfortable clothing that represents our everyday styles, including my favorite pair of cowboy boots and Wes’s iconic seersucker pants. Hope you enjoy!
Who wants to score a discounted wedding gown while at the same time supporting those affected by cancer? Oh, everyone? That’s what I thought.
Ahhh…what could be more delicious than a fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut, straight off the glaze belt when the hot light is on? Nothing, that’s what. Krispy Kreme doughnuts hold a special place in any North Carolinian’s heart, as these sugary treats originated right here in Winston-Salem in the 1930s. If you’re a fan, there are many ways to incorporate Krispy Kremes into your wedding day. Today, we’ll share a few of our favorite ideas:
Krispy Kreme Engagement Shoot: Taking engagement photos at a local Krispy Kreme franchise is a fun idea for doughnut fans. Your photos will have a vintage-y feel, and the doughnuts can serve as fun props.
It makes me incredibly joyful to see brides who are so happy to be marrying the love of their life, they can’t stop smiling. Today’s real bride is laughing and smiling through her entire bridal portrait session with John Crouch. And aren’t her cowboy boots, sunshine yellow shoes, and vibrant fabric flower bouquet just darling? Meet Cristina, a native of Wilmington, NC, who just married her beau, Scott, a few weeks ago!
